Biography

Vincent believes law should be a tool for progress, not panic. He founded Virtus Counsel to help organizations navigate complex legal challenges with control, clarity, and confidence.

As a seasoned courtroom lawyer and strategic advisor, Vincent’s work spans commercial disputes and in-house guidance. His practice delivers solutions that are as legally sound as they are commercially intelligent. He is trusted by his clients in high-stakes matters, including contractual breaches, injunctions, and appeals, while designing legal systems that minimize risk and accelerate growth.

Vincent’s career reflects an ongoing commitment to excellence. Called to the bar in British Columbia and Alberta, he has appeared before all levels of court in both provinces. After years of practice at a Calgary Metropolitan Region law firm, he served as General Counsel to a Greater Vancouver company with international operations in the roles of legal department leader, litigator, and corporate advisor. Since winning his first trial solo within four months of becoming an articling student, Vincent has continued to hone his talent in the courtroom. Vincent’s clients regularly rely on his drafting rigour; in fact, the BC Court of Appeal uses his materials as examples for other lawyers and the public.

Vincent holds a Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops, BC where he was on the Dean’s List, an Editor of the law journal, and a Clinician at the legal clinic. His success in the Western Canada Trial Advocacy Competition led him to spar in the National Trial Advocacy Competition, representing the first time a TRU law student reached that stage. Vincent also holds a Bachelor of Science with a Minor in Commerce from the University of British Columbia, where he was on the Dean’s Honour List.

Beyond practice, Vincent has been devoted to service of the community. He has served as Chair of the national Law Students Section of the Canadian Bar Association as well as a member of the national Access to Justice Committee of the organization. At TRU, he served as a Governor on the school’s board, a member of the Senate Steering Committee, and a representative of the Students’ Union. Vincent was also a Student Ambassador Co-Lead on a Canadian Public Health Association committee and served on a City of Vancouver advisory committee. For his contributions, Vincent was awarded the Law Foundation Public Interest Award.
